Hello Kitty+MMORPG
Dying from Kawaii-ness?

Whaaah? Is what I thought when I found about a new MMORPG that is based on Hello Kitty and her friends. I am a huge Hello Kitty fan, but the idea of it being an actual MMORPG sounds overwhelming. MMORPG=Killing enemies…Hello Kitty+ MMORPG= dying from cuteness?!

The places the players will be able to explore are the Flower Kingdom, Tokyo, Paris, Moscow, and other places populated by non-player Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, Badtz-Maru, My Melody, Kerropi, Pochacco, Purin, Muffin, and Scone. Hello Kitty MMORPG includes customizable avatars, guilds, skill systems, and player economy. You can also build your own home, cultivate your own farm, craft objects, earn and spend hello kitty dollars, and of course quest. Allthough there will be a unique combat system there is no talk about pvp. The public see's that it might become yet another addiction like the World of Warcraft to the younger consumers, "get them while they're still young." I assume it will also attract many female audiences who are Hello Kitty fans.

Currently there are already over 30,000 beta testers signed up for the closed beta. This MMORPG will have the traditional MMORPG aspects but wil also be a virtual community. I believe the social network community will be somewhat like secondlife with the ability to quest. So lets see...WoW+Secondlife X Hello Kitty characters= Hello Kitty MMORPG. I’m sensing that it will be Animal Crossing-esq because of the cutesy characters walking in the village. I might be totally wrong but I guess we won't know until it goes out of beta and is available to the public in the second half of 2008.

I actually got my beta email yesterday for this. Even though I didn't do all the crazy BS they wanted to get in. Kind of odd for me. I was just looking at it as a joke back when it was announced. I'd hand out my invite, but it looks like they require you to email and register in from the comp you will be playing on. At least that is what I got from the email they sent.

Haha I wish I knew about this sooner because I missed the sign up deadline =(. Did you download the client? It's under the download section in the right side of the website. Maybe you just need to download the client and enter in the id?

i've been trying to get into this! i was wondering, you know all those e-mail confirmations you have to go through? when it gives you your hello kitty tester id, or something like that, what are we supposed to do from there? it doesn't really point me in the direction of anything, so i'm confused! :( i really wanna get in and look at all the cuteness.
