Every Clan has a mission, a reason for existence, whether it exists solely to unite friends under one team name, or whether it serves a further purpose. Players who are united as a team and decide to create a Clan typically do so in order to gain recognition or notoriety for themselves as competitive gamers. This can happen professionally or simply amongst the multiplayer community.
A group of female gamers makes for a very special Clan. What makes us special is that despite the fact that there are so few of us who game as actively as any other "gamer geek", we all have made up our minds about how much we enjoy gaming. No matter the odds, no matter the type of competition, no matter what anyone says, we have found something we love to do and we know we're just as entitled to it as anyone else. And at some point, after playing the majority of the time with guys, every gamer girl says to herself, "I wonder if there are other girls who like this as much as me?"
That's where DM8X comes in. DM8X is here to tell women who play Call of Duty that there ARE other girls who like it as much as they do. DM8X is here to show men who play Call of Duty that there ARE women who like to play as much as they do. That we can be just as driven, just as competitive, just as proficient or skilled, just as united on our teams, just as strategic in our gameplay. That eventually guys will have to accept the fact that playing videogames, First Person Shooters included, is NOT a "guy thing to do", it is something that appeals to everyone.
We
all have different backgrounds, different stories about our gaming
adventures. Some of us have families, husbands and children to share in
the fun with. Some of us have been playing video games since we were
young. Some of us just started, perhaps at the suggestion of a friend.
We are united in the knowledge that we have found other women like us
who have something to share in the gaming community: a story to share,
a great personality to share, a feminine sensibility and sense of
humor, a competitive nature, support as a team mate, and friendship.
