Midway went away from the normal with Blitz, a football game where rules don't apply the idea is to play dirty! An Arcade style football game 1st and 30 2 minute quarters for fast gameplay.
Story They finally added a story to the game, Your a superstar could have gone into any sport but football was your pick. your enter a league that is full of rigged gameplay after pissing off one of the guys running it by rufusing to play for his team the L.A Riot you go through some rigorous ordeals failing a drug test playing prison ball all to take your team to the top and win it all.

Gameplay 2 minute quarters 30 yards to gain 4 more downs intense quick plays most drives last 45 seconds or less clash mode to slow down on offense to allow you to pull off jukes stiff arms and spins much better, while on defense you can take it to another level by laying a dirty hit down and injuring players. Juicing players (or if you want to be a little more descriptive drugging) gives your players an edge you can give them legal/illegal/HIGHLY illegal preformance enhancers to let them run longer,hit harder or become an unstoppable wrecking ball. extra game modes allow for even more fun with friends Tournament setups and special game types like Prison ball and butterfingers give this game so much more than a regular football game.

Sounds Hearing the clashing of pads, the breaking of bones, the rap on the menus (because we all know rap music goes well with football) and the best part of football the roaring fans!

The game gives multiple choices make your character offense (Quarter back,Half back,Wide reciever, tight end) defense (Defensive line, Linebacker, Cornerback, Safety) Rep gives your custom to some respect which is earned doing amazing stunts (50 yard play, Sacking the quarterback, Intercepting the ball, 300 yards passing etc)

Solid game, good controls, good story and a quick learning curve.
