  I got a PS3! F*CK YEAH!
December 26, 2008 at 12:18 am

Name says it all, I got an new PS3! The best gaming console to have ever existed and now I have one! I also got the following games: Blacksite: Area 51, Spiderman 3, Timeshift, Haze, Soldier of Fortune: Payback, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Vampire Rain: Altered Species, The Orange Box, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4 = F*CK YEAH!) I didn't get to choose the games, but I did tell my mom that I wanted MGS4, and my annoying dorky genetic sibling aka brother wanted Spiderman 3 and The Orange Box (even though we already have both on the PC), and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune came with the PS3, the rest are ones she chose. My list consisted of: MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, and I forget what the last one was.

the ps3 is very meh, some good games but expensive. the orange box is better on pc, blacksite is better on 360 as is Soldier of fortune. however resistance and untold legends are both exclusive to the ps3 and both very good games. MGS4 is probably one of the best titles to the ps3 as is lbp. ratchet and clank have been solid in the series yet to play or see the one for the ps3 hopefully it lives up to its name. the 360 is still a better console for those of us who prefer hardcore gaming with multiple people because as the saying goes "You get what you pay for" well you pay nothing for the psn and you pay $50 a year for live. live is well worth the $50. 360 > PS3

Any game that is good on a console will be best on a Sony console, and I didn't even want Blacksite or SoF. As for playing online I can't, satellite internet (which is what I have to use) has a minimum latency of about 600, I've seen it go up to about 1000, so I can't play online even though I want to, and as if that wasn't bad enough, I live about 6 miles from being able to get Cable Internet. I hate Hughesnet! >:(

Irradiccus said at December 30, 2008 at 10:53 pm:

ouch man yeah satellite internet sucks i had the pain of playing on it up at a friends it was okay if all we were doing was IM and browsing the web but online gaming was so laggy. I saw a video comparing dbz:burst limit on 360 and ps3 the ps3 was alright but the 360 was way better pretty sure that is true about all games. Blacksite is a good game, very short but fun. sof i only played online over at a friends so i no nothing of the story but it was a good game. i know there are fanboys for the PS3 and 360 while i wouldn't call myself a fanboy i prefer the 360 because it's a overall better console, i do lan parties and such which the 360 is king of (4 xboxs + 4 copies of halo = endless hours of fun) the ps3 lacks there. don't get me wrong i don't hate the ps3 and i intend to eventually get one (mostly because of mgs and untold legends) but the 360 is the best console on the market right now.

Can your 360 play DVDs/Blu-Rays? And yeah satellite sucks, even worse that I only get 375mbs of bandwidth usage allowance PER DAY! I can't watch videos or download anything until 1 in the MOTHER F*CKING MORNING!!! Sorry, but I really hate Hughesnet, but two more things: 1. If we cancel our service as of now we get charged $500. 2. I live about 4 miles too far away to get cable >:( DAMN IT!!! SO CLOSE YET SO FAAAAAR!!! I can't wait to be 18, then I can hopefully move about 4 or 5 miles away so I can get cable.

Irradiccus said at December 31, 2008 at 4:39 am:

i don't really have a need to play blu-ray i rarely watch movies as is and if i want to watch blu-ray then i'll just go get a blu-ray player it's not that big of a deal to me. the 360 does play dvds along with movies from a flash drive so i can get HD quality through my system anyways. yeah satellite sucks i will agree, your internet is best on a sunny no cloud day when your the only one on which rarely happens so your pretty much stuck at a slow rate. Cable is nice so is dsl both will allow you to game, i'm not sure what the specs are on the psn but i know the 360 recommends a 512 kbps upload for best connection. plus how is adding blu-ray making the ps3 better? all because the console can play a blu-ray movie it is suddenly better? i thought you know when people bought video game consoles they would you know use it to play games not watch movies.

Kee don't listen to Irradiccus mainly because his name is Irradiccus; but also because he is uninformed about the superiority of the PS3. You got the best console money can buy right now.

Irradiccus said at December 31, 2008 at 2:05 pm:

wizzleteet is a major ps3 fanboy he is blinded by his racism against the 360. it is probably because the system is superior. Whichever console works best for you man since you lack online play the ps3 may be better but i have online capabilities thus making my 360 far worth the money.

Kee715 said at January 2, 2009 at 12:53 am:

Well I think the PS3 is better due to the hardware + games, MGS4, Ratchet & Clank Future, that new Crash Bandicoot game (I forget the title), the Orange Box, all those on the PS3, 360 has Halo (aka crap shooter that can't compare with Half-Life), and I know HL2 was released on the original Xbox, I'm still unclear as to wether or not The Orange Box was though. Anyway you can have your 360, I will always state that Sony's consoles are better, call me a fanboy if you wish, I just think Sony makes superior consoles.

Irradiccus said at January 2, 2009 at 1:05 am:

The orange box is available for the 360 as is l4d which is made by valve. Halo is great for mp with a bunch of friends, hl is a great game no doubt but i find computer lan parties to be more of a hassle then doing them with 360s. PS3 aren't as good as the 360 for multiplayer (which i do on a regular basis) the hardware for the 360 works better for it as does the live service microsoft offers. The PS3 is a good system however when compared to the 360 it falls short, mlg is a good example for that.

sadly, all PS3's if you buy them retail don't offer backwards compatibly with PS2 games...at least to what I know of.

Correct, no retail PS3s offer that feature, and even then the ones that DO (80, 60, 20 gigs) offer it are only a certain model number, 80 gig I know has it, 60 Gig has it as well I think, 20 Gig comes with it but it's only got space for like 2 or 3 games, 40 gig lacks it.

Death Ensemble (formerly Archie KoRnkid) said at December 27, 2008 at 4:18 pm:

lol. awesome. I got a PS3 for Christmas as well. I got Grid, Silent Hill Homecoming, and Fallout 3. Uncharted came with mine as well. I take you got the 160 gig version too?

Yes, I wanted one with backwards compatability towards PS2 games, but now that I see how much space games on the PS3 take up I am glad I got the 160 Gigabyte version.

You have a good mix of choice games and some not so choice games. More than enough to be covered for quite some time though.

Your brother wanting the OB though is a little strange. Not only for already owning it, but owning it on the better platform for FPS. CRAZY

He probably wanted it because we have a crap PC and on a PS3 it looks FANTASTIC, but the controls are just massively inferior to a keybord and mouse, so much that I don't really want to play it all that much, but I will try Portal due to the shear awesomeness of it.
