the thing about rock band that i liked is they really nailed the rhythm part of songs on the guitar, GHIII was kinda all over the place and felt like you were hitting rhythms and notes that werent even there but were added just to make it more difficult.
BUT i dont think anyone can do much worse hardware wise than rock band did, they really F'd it up big time. so we shall have to see!! really stoked about the jam mode you can do on the drums, read it in this month's game informer. that was the one thing that was missing from rock band, being able to do your own jams on the songs on drums.
ill never spend that much on a game ;/

I personally was not satisfied with the soundtrack for rockband. It had a few good songs, don't get me wrong, but for the price they were charging hardly covered the costs. I think GH4, if it has wise choices about it's soundtrack, could be better than RB. I also wasn't a huge fan of Rockband's Drums. I felt the cymbal idea that GH4 is looking to create would have satisfied my needs, and would have been better imo. Good thing I don't own any consoles, but I'll convince my brother to trade his Rockband in to fund GH4.
I agree with pwned, not just because he owns my Pwned.com Soul, but because both games will be exactly the same in essence. Only difference is, the songs and how Guitar hero has more of a cartoony feel to the characters. Guitar Hero always had average mediocre songs in my opinion, but Rock Band seems to be branching out and giving more of a variety.
I agree. GH 4 is going to be pretty cool. Im kinda anxious to get my hands on it. Of course Im def not throwing away my rockband set anytime soon, but Ill prob have both.
Both companies own the idea for having all the instruments in a game. GH and RB were both originally the same company, and they broke apart a while back. Where as the idea of putting all the instruments was already out there before they broke apart, so in a way guitar hero 4 won't be copying RB
of course GH4 is going to be better...it had Rockband to build off of and learn from their mistakes. Still, I think the Guitar Hero franchise is officially dead if they follow this path. They should change the name to "Rockgroup" or "MusicalBand" or "Shameless Imitators". Still...I'm looking forward to it :)
