Hey gang, so I'm making my debut here on Pwned.com, thanks to a couple of friends who pushed me into it.  Hope you enjoy the musings of an old-schooler!

Hey gang.  Well, it's the weekend, and you know what that means.  Some good ol' Semi-Pro and drinking on the side.<br><br>Anyway, had another busy week.  Finally got over this cold that plagued the shit out of me last week in San Francisco and dug right into several games, including Dragon Quest Swords (decent), Lost Planet on PS3 (alright, but I prefer the 360 version) and Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed (not bad).  Also been working a bit on review copies of Army of Two and God of War: Chains ol Olympus, both of which are very, very promising.  So there's a lot on my plate.<br><br>And yet I've managed to sit down and take some time to get back into Gunvalkyrie, an old Sega Xbox game that I remember absolutely loving upon its initial release a few years ago.  It's really a great game, an action-fest with aliens to shoot down and big, puss-filled pods to blast to pieces.  It's a spectacular looking game with great gameplay and two different characters to choose from, as well as one of the best gaming soundtracks available.  It's so good that I actually plunked down $20 for the Tokyopop Gunvalkyrie CD the day it came out.  Glad I still own it.<br><br>It's kind of highway robbery that Gunvalkyrie isn't on the backwards compatibility list for Xbox 360, because it really is that much fun and that well-designed.  Hopefully, it'll make the cut before Microsoft does away with the backward compat updates altogether.  This and Stranger's Wrath, anyway.  If you guys like good sci-fi gaming, find an Xbox and Gunvalkyrie and go to town.  You won't be disappointed.<br><br>Oh, and before I'm finished with the blog, I do have to give a shout out to my friend Becky "Aktrez".  Recently, she came upon a realization that the game industry needs a little positive kick in the pants, especially considering the negative "n00bs" and such.  So she posted a 30-minute rant talking about the ideas she has in mind, it's a great watch.  <a href="http://girlsentertainmentnetwork.com/?p=198comments/">Head on over and take a look</a>.<br><br>And with that, have a great weekend.
