So I’ve been playing a lot of HD Remix lately and decided to see if anyone on PWNED would be interested in a tournament. If you are just leave a comment below or send me a PM. Also tell me what system you have the game for. Thanks in advance!

Street Fighter Turbo HD Remix Trailers Are E-P-I-C!

Yes, yes I know these are old but they're still awesome. Honestly I was thinking about skipping HD Remix but these trailers, they fucking sold me on it. I'll be getting it Friday once I go and buy a PSN Card. Behold the awesomeness!

I mean Jesus they're just awesome! I suck at fighting games but these get me excited to get my ass handed to me. I was a Mortal Kombat kid growing up and still enjoy it but I can see my self becoming a Street Fighter fanboy. I can't say I was excited for SF IV but now I'm pumped (even if these are for a different game)! I mean words can not express how epic I think these are! I think I'll shut up now...

Chrono Trigger DS First Impressions

As I said in my previous blog I've wanted to try Chrono Trigger for a long time and today I finally got my chance. I've got to say I've been enjoying my self for the past two hours. I'm not a big fan of JRPGs but I'm finding my self enjoying the combat (that's my biggest beef with them). It's still to early to tell but I'm leaning towards saying I could try future JRPGs and even enjoy them. So far I just got past the trial, was found not guilty, and still got sentenced to death...Bastard Chancellor. Anyway the story isn't anything special yet but I'm enjoying it. I'm not using the stylus just sticking to the buttons and d-pad. Don't know when I'll beat the game but I'll do a review when I do.

Side Note: Because I ordered at GameStop I got the CD bonus thing. The two songs are Chrono Trigger Orchestra Version and Chrono Trigger Medley Orchestra Version, I like them both.

Chrono Trigger + JRPGS

So I traded in Far Cry 2 yesterday and put it towards Chrono Trigger on the DS. I've always been interested in playing CT, ecspecially when I learned Akira Toriyama did the character designs. Yes I am a Dragon Ball Z fan, actually just watched the new movie earlier today, it was based on one of Akira's ideas. Anyway as I've said many times before I'm not a big JRPG fan so I don't know how much of the game I'll play. Hopefully I'll beat it and enjoy every minute of it, if so it may open up the possibility of me trying other JRPGs (gasp, dare I try a Final Fantasy!?!). I tried Chrono Cross and enjoyed what I played but for some reason I never beat it, I think I got bored or simply forgot about it. Anyway let's move on to a question I pose for all of you. Do you plan on picking up Chrono Trigger or are you going to stay away and stick to the SNES version?

Left4Dead First Impressions

Let me start off by saying I love zombies. From the "realistic" horror of Dawn of the Dead (both old and new) to the funny stuff such as the Return of the Living Dead series. I've read the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks at least twice and World War Z. So I'm a pretty big Zombie fan. Needless to say after playing a zombie mod for Half Life 2 I've been waiting for an FPS zombie game. Valve has delivered in the form of Left4Dead.

The controls perfom on the PC as you would expect an FPS too: awesome. I did have a little bit of lag so I had to turn my settings down (something I don't mind doing). I've only played the singe-player and multiplayer so far and from what I've experienced it's a blast. I much prefer playing as the zombies then I do the survivors. So far I'm having fun and I bet I will for the next few weeks.

Mirror's Edge Review

Hello Faithy.

I’ve been waiting for a first person platformer sense the N64 era after having put countless hours into Mario 64 and Golden Eye, wishing I could combine the two. Mirror’s Edge seemed to be the game that would make that dream come true. I was drawn to ME after the first time I saw it, not only was it a first person platformer but it was beautiful. There was just something about this game that made me want it and after playing the demo on PSN I had made up my mind, Mirror’s Edge would be a first day purchase.

As always I’m going to go ahead and get the graphics out of the way. As I said up there Mirror’s Edge is a beautiful game. The graphics are crisp, the colors are simply outstanding, and the character models look pretty good. But dear God why did they do the cutscenes in that animated fashion? Sure it looks stylish but I can only imagine how awes

I Don't Want to Set The World on Fire - Fallout 3 Review

War…War never changes.
Fallout 3 is a game I had been anticipating sense the first time I hear about it. Was it because I was a fan of the earlier Fallouts? Was it because Bethesda was making it? Neither of these, it was because of the post-apocalyptic America setting and because of Dogmeat. There are a few things I’ve always wanted in a game; to play in a post-apocalyptic America and to have a dog follow me around, Fallout 3 offered me both. Before hearing about F3 I’d never even heard of the Fallout franchise so as the release date approached I began to look up information about the earlier titles. I was a bit disappointed that the America I’d be playing in wasn’t the same as ours but also intrigued by the 50s type setting. Needless to say as time wore on I grew use to the idea and when I learned robots would be in the game I was ready to play. Enough with this little int

Far Cry 2 + Web of Shadows First Impressions

I bought both of these games yesterday and have put a few good hours into both, so here are my thoughts so far, starting with Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 2 was a game I wasn’t very excited about but decided to give it a shot anyway. My first impression was that it was boring, this was still during the tutorial which I had no idea was still going on. So after the tutorial finally ended I decided to go and take my first mission; kill some guy. This is where I started to realize that I was going to enjoy this game. As I made my way to the mission one of the in-game buddies called me up and told me he had an alternate way to get the mission done, I decided to oblige him and took his route. I ended up at a village surrounded by water. Wanting to do a Rambo thing I jumped into the water and swam towards the base I ended up under a walkway and could see enemy troops walking above me. I pulled out

SOCOM: Confrontation First Last Impressions

I went to Best Buy yesterday to look for the new official Sony blue-tooth headset and didn’t find it except bundled with SOCOM. So I figured I’d buy it and get a free game. When I got home I popped SOCOM into my PS3 and sat down to play a round or two, I’ve never played a SOCOM game before and the closets thing I’ve come to it is probably Metal Gear Online. Let’s just say my experience has made me never want to it play again…

Upon being told there was no saved data I said that I wanted to create it, the game then went to a second screen which then said in order to play I had to install the game. I was told to quit the game (wtf?) and go install it from the XMB. Now to those who don’t have a PS3 installing games is a normal procedure the thing is that the game usually does it by its self without any prompting from the player. This was my first sign of the suck-fest I wa

Curbstomping Has Never Been So Fun (Dead Space First Impressions)

I picked up Dead Space today and have been playing for probably an hour and a half. The game meets my expectations and more so. I’ve completed the first chapter of the game and so far I’ve had at least three good “scares”. Nothing that made me go “Oh shit!” but more of just being surprised that I jump in my seat. I haven’t encountered any of the fake scare moments yet, except for maybe one. I entered into a room that was having a strobe light effect and expected something to jump out at me, nothing did. So far the “scares” are pretty cool but nothing that’s really made me truly frightened like the first time I saw It as a child (honestly I’m hoping to not have that type of scare because I had nightmares for a week because of that damn movie).
Now onto the combat. The controls (on the PS3) feel really good, they don’t feel cluttered or anything. I’ve opted for

So today is October 14th and you know what that means right? Dead Space! WRONG! Today was just the shipping date, bastards. I went to GameStop to pick up my copy and was pretty pissed when I found out today was the shipping date. I left GS and went to Best Buy to be told the same thing, as a last resort I went to one more GS and no dice. I really do wish sites would update it to say the ACTUAL release date and not the shipping one, pisses me off. Oh well, I’ve still got Mega Man to keep me company.
Yakuza 3: Shenmue's Spiritual Successor

For those of you who don’t know a lot of people (mostly fans) are calling Yakuza 3 the spiritual successor to Shenmue. This has me, and others, very excited. Why? Well I can’t answer for the other people but I can answer for myself. Shenmue was the first game where I felt like I was in a huge world. It was the first game that I remember letting me explore a huge town. It was also a game that had awesome graphics (for the time), an excellent combat system, and an intriguing story (okay, dude’s father dies and dude goes on a revenge quest, not that awesome but still).
I watched my brother beat Shenmue then I took a go at it and beat it myself. I remember waiting for Shenmue II, and then when I heard it was coming out for the XBox my dreams were shattered. At that time I was a foolish kid and thought Microsoft had no reason to enter the gaming industry and I wouldn’t support the

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review

There are two types of games in my eyes, good games (and of course bad games) and Star Wars games. The reason it’s like this is because I’m a huge Star Wars nerd, therefore I grade SW games differently. In most cases a SW game is usually just mediocre or bad in some cases but because I’m a fanboy I enjoy it for what it is. There have been a few cases where a SW game turned out to be a good game. Those few games are Republic Commando, Jedi Power Battles, and Jedi Outcast. Unfortunately The Force Unleashed is not a part of that category.
Unleashed was suppose to make you feel like a complete bad ass with the Force, which in some cases it does. However the later levels throw enemies at you that present more of a challenge and force you (no pun intended) to use your lightsaber instead of the Force. Now this would have been fine had the lightsaber physics been like in the movies

Mega Man 9 Demo

So I d/led the MM9 demo off of PSN and I’ve got to say I enjoyed what I played. I can see the game getting frustrating but I like it enough that I think I’m going to buy it. It’ll hold me over until Dead Space next week and I can go back to it (because I know I won’t beat it) while waiting on LittleBigPlanet on the 21st (I expect Dead Space to take more three or four days max to beat). Needless to say I’m not sure what system to buy MM9 on. The DualShock 3 felt comfortable but so does the Wii-mote when held sideways for SSBB. I hate how there is no demo on WiiWare, oh well. So to those who have MM9 what system did you get it on and do you like the controller?

Random Junk Number 999

So I haven’t made a blog in a while, mostly I’ve been busy with work and too lazy to write, so there’s my explanation. Sorry if you wanted something a little bit more interesting but I live the boring life of a normal American. So anyway, let’s get on with the show shall we?
Here’s that Spore review I promised. Good game but not a great game. It gets a 4/5 from me. I had my most fun with Spore in the stages before Space. Once I hit Space with any of my creations I always got bored and created a new species. Needless to say if there is a Spore Two I hope it focuses more on the tribal and civilization stages. Needless to say Spore got me interested in RTS. I might pick up End War and try it out thanks to Spore. I also might try Halo Wars, even though I’ve never played a Halo game before. Funny how this started out as a short Spore review and ended up talking about Halo and

However all the way up to the space stage I enjoyed the game. I created a new species today and started over Ive once again arrived at the space stage and will now pay more attention. Over all its a pretty enjoyable game and I havent gotten bored yet. Review will be up after I beat the space stage and mess around some more.

So I was browsing Kotaku like I usually do and came across this article. It seems that Bethesda are handing out these booklets at PAX. While the pictures on Kotaku are hard to read if you read further down on the comments someone gave a link to this site.
Warhawk - Jetpacks First Impressions

So as some of you know the expansion pack Fallen Star came out for Warhawk today and one of it's major features are jetpacks. I've been playing the game for the last hour or two and have got to say I like the jetpacks a lot. I mostly play Zones (capture the bases in other games) so being able to fly around and sneak up on an enemy base is very satisfying. I don't have a lot to say right now other then they're fun and a great add-on for the game.

Random Junk Part 5

So while waiting for the demo to The Force Unleashed to get through d/ling I popped Bad Company into my PS3 and finished up the single-player. Needless to say my impressions of the single-player hasn't changed. The AI (on both sides) is stupid and you shouldn't even have team mates sense they don't do jack shit. Although the story was somewhat entertaining, with the way it ended looks like there will be a Bad Company 2 or the story will be expanded on via DLC.

So I've finally gotten a taste of The Force Unleashed and what do I think? It's awesome. My only complaint is the lightsaber but I can understand why it's not as powerful as it should be. For one if it killed opponents in one hit or sliced through metal like a hot knife through butter the game wouldn't be as fun. Also the game is about the Force and how powerful it is not the lightsaber. From just playing the demo I cant wai

ROFL

Soldier get up off of the floor and stop laughing!

Pi Pi Pi!

Those are just some of the memorial quotes from BC:R and I can assure you there are more. Now I haven’t completed the story mode yet, the last level is a complete bitch, but I think I’ve played the game long enough to give a review. Let’s start with the story. From what I can tell, having only played a few levels of the original Bionic Commando and reading up on it, BC:R stays true to the original story while making it better. While it never goes to deep into character development like other games you do feel bad for Spencer (the guy you play as) when he reveals something about his past. I hope that in the new Bionic Commando (for PS3, 360, and PC) they give a little more information on if Spencer ever solved the problem because it doesn’t look like it’s going to be answered in the comic.

ROFL!

One of the epic conversations I've come across so far in BC:R. For those of you who don't know BC:R is a remake of the NES Bionic Commando that's come out on XBox Live Arcade, PSN, and Direct2Drive. At first it was a little hard to get the swinging mechanic down but I've gotten the hang of it. The boss battles I've encountered are pretty cool and over all the game is fun if a bit frustrating. A full review will be up once I beat the game.

So today EA DICE released (for free) Conquest Mode for Battlefield: Bad Company. Over all its just like the conquest mode of every other BF game and that = awesome. Personally I think BC should have shipped with conquest instead of gold rush but thats just me. No new maps but the devs did something to the old ones that make them seem new, Im not sure what it is but it works. Anyway to those who have BF:BC I recommend firing up your 360 or PS3 and playing a round of Conquest.

Im not sure if Ive stated this in one of my previous blogs or not but I dont really care about trophies. However today I have changed my mind. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune received a patch today that allowed players to get trophies (gotta start a new game) and I freaking LOVE Uncharted. While this is more of an excuse for me to go back and play Uncharted I do want some trophies so I dont look like a complete nub. I wont be doing this with a lot of games unless I like them. Id go back and play MGS4 to get some trophies and maybe Heavenly Sword but not GTAIV or RaCF:ToD. So my question to those who read this; how do yall feel about trophies?
