Shortly after my last post my grandpa passed away. The same day, the landlord emailed me saying that the apartment was rented out. So I had to immediately went and searched for apartments because my other roommates were too busy to. Attended a funeral that was overly depressing, trying to keep contact with my friends which seems impossible these days. Went to 5 different places for apartment/house showings. Most of them junk because many people have already rented the nice places for next upcomming school year. Finally found one, took forever to sign because both of our schedules were pretty busy. Finally got to his house to sign, realized that I left my checkbook on the kitchen table. For one, my mom has just started radiation treatment. Not even a week later, I find out news that my grandpa is going downhill...My grandpa has always been one tough cookie, but seeing him weak just made my heart sink. I remember when I was little and was crying he went to me and said, dry up those tears, raise your head and be strong. He is part of the reason why I have a tough exterior. Can we get a high five for action movies? Woo! I love anything dealing with fights, adrenaline rushes, bullets, car chases, blood you name it. The movie "Wanted" was jammed packed with all of the above. Throughout the whole movie I was on the edge of my seat, not once was I bored or wanting to press fast forward on my imaginary remote in the theater. Being an avid Adam Sandler fan and a die hard fan in the comedy genre, I had to go see this. The previews seemed hilarious, exciting and different, but after coming back from the theaters, it left nothing but a bitter taste in my mouth. WARNING SPOILER ALERT! Adam Sandler is wonderful actor full of spontaneous energy, which is why he played this character brilliantly. What I didn't like about this film is that it basically threw out random stuff that was supposed to be funny, and in turn, some scenes ended making me look over to see if anyone in the audience was laughing. There were scenes that were genuinely funny, that I actually laughed without forcing myself to because everyone else was. What dissapointed me about the film was that it wasn't consistent. Religion talk. I was walking to class today and noticed a huge circle of people gathered around a preacher. A preacher that's saying "Everyone Here is Going to Hell!" while carrying a bible and babbling nonsense after another. Basically saying college students are the biggest sinners yadda yadda. I didn't bother to stay more than 5 minutes wasting my time because he kept going on an on how everyone is sinning except for him. He also goes and babbles that if you don't convert to Christianity you'll burn in hell. He added that if you're of Jewish decent you can be saved if you convert to Christianity. I am not saying Christianity is wrong, but I am saying that there are other religions out there that people should be able to believe in without the fear of someone bashing them. As you're sitting there with your hands on the keyboard, bacteria is pouring all over your hands. Not to scare any OCD people out there, but you might want to consider cleaning your keyboard or washing your hands after using it. Some studies have shown that a keyboard could be 100X dirtier than your toilet. Recently I cleaned my keyboard because of the sticky keys, and it wasn't a pretty sight. Wish I took some pictures of all the crap that was in it. eyelashes, cathair, lint, cookie crumbs and just random gunk. It wasn't until yesterday I learned the truth about how keyboards can be a health hazard. It started out with this article I came across when I was bored in class.
