Gamer Rant: Thou Shall Think

I am around other gamers constantly, and many questions are always
brought up to me. But the two I hear the most are "When will the price
drop?" and "How soon do you think the next generation consoles will
come out?" Although those are hard to answer it does make you stop and
think.
As for the "When will the price drop?" You have to realize that even
though it is a high price tag, it is a good price. Let"s look at the
PS3 for example, it has a blu-ray player and it costs $399 for a 40GB
version. The cheapest brand blu-ray player I could find at Best Buy was
$200, and that was for an off brand name. Plus you have to add in the
cost of the controller, as well as the ability to play the games. Think
about it, for a Gaming PC (not your regular run of the mill desktop)
you are looking at well over the $399 mark, and it doesn"t have a
blu-ray player. The PS3 is a good deal. Hone

Are You A Gamerscore Whore

Since I am constantly around gamers, I have noticed a new
gaming addiction. The gamerscore.

Since the Xbox 360 was released in 2005, Xbox 360 users have
had the gamerscore. The gamerscore is
an achievement system. You can earn/unlock achievements by doing certain tasks
in each game. For example, beating
campaign mode on normal difficulty in Halo 3 gives you a 125 point
achievement. Each achievement awards
you points towards your gamerscore. For
some users this gives a new sense of accomplishment. Instead of just feeling good about beating the level, it shows
others you have completed the task, and gives the user bragging rights.
Most gamers like their gamerscore, but lately, I have seen
more and more gamers become obsessed with it. People will come and ask what games have easy achievements. In the beginning achievements were worth
more, and had fewer to accomplish. They

Gamer Rant : Thou Shall Not Generalize

So I was at work today putting away some games when a couple
of customers came in.nbsp; The customers
were bringing in games to switch for something else. I asked what they thought
of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit (since it was one they were bringing back).nbsp; The two guys replied it was childish. Irsquo;m
not really into the Dragon Ball Z games was my response.nbsp; They said most girls arenrsquo;t. Most play
puzzles or games like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Now donrsquo;t get me wrong I do like puzzles and games like
Sonic. But I hate being generalized. It drives me nuts.nbsp; So what Irsquo;m a girl.nbsp; That doesnrsquo;t mean I only play Barbie or
other girlish games.nbsp; Most girls that I
play online with, or know for that matter, are first person shooter, RPG, or
many other genre players.nbsp; Girl gamers
are everywhere, and play everything just like guys do.nbsp; We play
