With all the music simulators out there today, this one would have to be one of the main innovations in the genre I have seen in a long time. It was about time that a company took some of the best games, Guitar Hero, Drumscape and Karaoke all into one. But that is just part of the reason I have given this game such a great opening. There is also a really good, but not the best, character builder for the game. This is pretty much just a way for the user to customize their character on screen instead of keeping with the generic few that was around in Harmoix's first iterations of this genre. Another great thing about this is that you also get to unlock and pick up extra clothes and gear as you play and beat songs in the game. Pretty cool. Including the fact that you can get things like the "Dr. Acula Cape." Brilliance! There is also the tons of Downloadable Songs that you can purchase, or in some cases get for free, to expand the game even further. Between the singles a the most recently added full albums, there is definitely not a lack of music to play with the game. The one real beef that I have with the game is a little lack of songs that fit my own tastes. Part of that is that my tastes usually tend to the Parental Advisory section in the stores or the underground scene. I wish there was a way for a home user to create their own music for the game and play it only locally. This is something that doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to do and give out to home users. Maybe force a game registry to use it. Just my thoughts.
