Another thing that is worth noting is the eight player coop. You can play the coop mode online with other gamers to try to pass various missions. Even though I was a HUGE fan of the two player coop mode in RFOM, this one was good also. Many agree in my ranting when I say that Insomniac should have added a two player story coop. The coop is great, but you can not forget the endless yelling and screaming when your partner dies in RFOM and it takes you back to the start of the level. It is somewhat randomized in a sense where you start out during each mission but it's worth it when you clear it.
The Campaign mode of Resistance 2 was superb. The graphics where clear and the actual story of Nathan Hale is flawless. Kudos to Insomniac for that INSANE ending! Many literary elements were throughout the campaign, so watch out for those. As in many other campaigns, Nathan obviously discovers new weapons throught the campaign. Interesting new ones that Insomniac added are the V7 Splicer, HVAP Wraith, XR-13 Bellock Semi-Automatic, MP-47 Pulse Cannon and the HE. 44 Magnum. Other weapons are used in the Online player mode like the XR-42 Phoenix and the XR-87 Proximity Mine.
Sixty player online is also quite fun to play, especially in large maps. Some multiplayer modes divide participants into 4-8 player squads with its own virtual lobby. All in all, this game has it all... so take notes Bungie ;]
If you're looking for a fun game with a lot of features, try out Resistance 2 (or even RFOM if you want to get a "feel" for the sequel). I am sure you'll love it and enjoy the many features and the fun gameplay.
