Dead Space (aka the bastard love child of a three-way between Doom 3, Resident Evil 4 and Metal Storm for NES) is a mildly entertaining game for about 3 hours or so. The basic combat, which I found to be somewhat original, revolves around sawing off the limbs of your mutated foes. If you blow their heads off, they will just grow back, which adds some much-needed realism into the mix. Some of the mechanics in the game, such as constantly having to regulate an oxygen tank while in zero-gravity during combat, irritated me to no end, as that is one of those things that can really take you out of a game (item repair, having to eat, etc). I haven't finished the game yet, but if there's an escort mission at any point, feel free to drop my score to a 3. But as it stands, a solid rental with no multiplayer, which is almost necessary for any non-RPG to have any replay value.

Right off the bat i wanna say if you pass on this game you are really missing out on a great experience Story/Plot: The story grabs and sucks you in almost like Halo 3 did for me where theirs one hero against imposable odds but the odds turn into twists and turns that make you go "OMFG WTF IS THAT SHIT" and "HOLY F***" literally Gameplay: The gameplay is really easy to get a hold of since theirs a auto tool box that shows up in the beginning to get you familiar with the controls. Guns are few as well as ammo but the game does deliver and makes it easy not to get hit The Look: NO CUSCENES thats right no annoying hard to get out of cutscenes. To really see this game shine you gotta play it to the end boss to really go "WOW" trust me. Overall the game is awesome and is a must get. EA has out done them selfs yet again
