I'm a big fan of the age of empires series, and of course I enjoyed playing this game as well. I only had a few complaints, one of them being that for such a long time that this group of games has been around, there isn't much difference in difficulty from the first few to this one. I did enjoy the new mixture of the settlements, and you being able to get shipments from your supporting country. One very minor observation that took a while to get used to was the gold was actually mined from rock, instead of looking more like actual gold. I'm not sure if this is an improvement or not. I suppose it depends on if you like the authenticity or easier to identify.
