If there’s a word that strikes up a response or an opinion faster then the word “abortion” its –
EMO
This word holds a great deal of significance to those who know what it refers to:
“A subculture of individuals unbiased by gender, race, or orientation who subscribe to a certain style of music and clothing and/or lifestyle.” (this is my definition)
Wikipedia gives a different definition:
“Emo is a style of hardcore punk which describes several variations of music with ...

While I was sick, Neil and I talked about picking up a new MMO, so we wandered the net for a bit. I found a site for "Free MMOs" and eventually came across this little gem.The game was apparently developed or produced by the same folks who did Ragnarock online. Despite the game originalyl being developed for Korea, this English export has no funky translations that I've yet found (I'm lvl 18 atm) and did I mention the game is FREE?Well thats not entirely accurate. The game is based around a "M...

THE TALE OF THE CREEPY GUY FROM IRL!I invite pretty
much everyone to my parties. As much as I want to make mine closed invite, it
just makes me sad to be that person. I want everyone to get along, be happy, and
not start shit w/ anyone. I love my friends and I want them to love each other
as well. This is a fantasy. I accept that. Let me have my dream
goddammit.I invited ppl from lots of different circles - The Cam, Nero,
Desert of Shadows (Jamie's really awesome VtR troupe LARP), N...

Why aren’t there more women in my life?
No this question isn’t directed at you MEN, its directed at
the ladies here on PWNED and across the gaming spectrum.
Ladies have you ever found yourself wondering – Geeze, why don’t
I have anyone to go have ice cream with? Or go shopping with? Or just have a
nice heart to heart with another girl? (Cause we all need these things sometimes)
Do you often find yourself wondering why you have no
girlfriends one sec...

A PWNED.COM GUIDE TO THE SHOUTBOX
If you’re unfamiliar with
shout boxes, forums, trolls, or web culture in general you might find this
guide to be useful. If you are familiar
with the above cultures and terms, you will most likely find this guide to be
comical.
For those of you new to this
sort of culture there are a few things that you need to be familiar with- If you lack a thick skin, the Shoutbox of
internet forums in general may not be the place for you. People a...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Pwners and n00bs I seek to answer the question - Which is more 1337 - A pirate or a ninja?
Now the gaming community is divided on this issue, and will debate it at length, so I thought I'd do a listing of pros and cons of both factions. However while I'm at it its also important to note that monkies and robots are also mortal enemies and the greatest battle known to man short of Nazis riding dinosaurs is - robot ninjas vs pirate monkies.
(It's important to note that ...

So I'm throwing a toga party for my roommate's birthday this weekend. I'll get the rockband set up, I've got a DJ, and the firepit will be out in the backyard providing that ever necessary place to smoke and chat.
While SSB:B might be a great party game for normal gamers (I used to put soul calibur out as well, but its only 2 player) I've found that Rock band is a great party tool.
The last big party I threw I had no less then 12-20 of hte party guests out of say 80 in our living room ...

I'm mostly writing this review so that I can test the formatting, but it is a review none-the-less.
Super Smash Bros....
My roommate, who cannot live without a Mario game, picked this gem up yesterday morning while I was out of the house. After spending soem time running around the park I came home to his usual screaming, cursing and foul mouthed love/hate dance with his newest game.
I live in a gamer house, and I love it dearly.
I live with three men, three consoles, and six compu...

Since joining PWNED I've had the pleasure of meeting several young ladies like myself. In fact the shoutbox is generally filled with well spoken and intelligent women (oh and the guys are pretty cool as well).
More and more I see women fragging, kicking, jabbing, raiding, kicking ass and taking names and it makes me smile. We the minority are now becoming part of the norm, one hack, slash and headshot at a time.
Previously the female gamers of the world were only targeted by marketers...

I've been a part of a lot of gamer communities over the years (I include the massive amount of MMO's I've played in that as well). One thing that you can be sure of is that gamers haev their own language.
(pardon my lack of spelling folks)
Gamers come from every walk of life, religion, race, and background. But one this that unites us is a language that was once all our own, and is not moving into the mainstream.
We the gaming community and the geeks within it are responsible for the...
