well with all these interesting games coming they still havnt focused on this idea i have in mind

one person is a RTS guy like in CnC the rest are FPS guys who control tanks and what not...any tanks, jeeps, or anything thats not being controlled by a human is a NPC for the RTS guy...the RTS guy can build factorys to build more units and FPSers can upgrade there weapons and so forth...plus every round someone has a chance to be RTS

i think this would be a great idea...like if the RTS guy has a mic....then you can talk to people on the ground and highlight people who you wanna talk to and if you dont have anyone highlighted then you talk to everyone

sounds good but at the same time impossible.

so what happens when you have 2 people in the beginning and 100 at the end of an rts?

it'll be set up like a server on PC and it will only be on PC...cuz RTSs are shit on Consoles but there would have to be fine tuning to this kinda game

if only developers would listin

in the beginning of an rts you have few soldiers and at the end you have a lot of soldiers.

in an fps it is either steady or the inverse.

explain how it could work.

Cyst.Ums
M.O.R.T.S

Massive Online Real Time Strategy

Could have it so that each individual unit has a commander. ergo, air support, ground support, defensive units, building and supplies.. ect..
That would be a way to pull something like that off. Problem would be server costs and having enough ppl to fill the positions and play an actual game with more than one team.

But I think it is a creative idea you have.

But I don't see it happening since the cost base would be to great for research and dev and marketing a different way to play a RTS when there is a set formula to it already. And Publishers/Developers don't want to risk losing money in todays economy.

Plus I think they have already came as close to your vision with the Battlefield series as you are going to see released.

There are plenty of tools out there though that you could use to make your own game in your own vision.
