So then. Let's give you a smidgen. I apologize ahead of time, I'm very long winded and it's 6 am, so I'm sleep deprived as well *wink*
I am from Rochester, Minnesota. Soon relocating to Las Vegas.
I prefer the term 'geek' as it relates (in my twisted version of a brain) to someone with less social awkwardness than a 'dork' or 'geek'. An interest in the random, often obscure things for nearly no rhyme or reason and often a broad mishmash of interests which may or may not have a practical application but aren't necessarily the guys you find on the honor role in school. Often the guy you'll see wandering down the street in a bear costume, wielding a plastic sword in order to promote some random $5 special at the local pizza hut and not giving a damn.
*coughs* not that I've...ever done that. Or anything similar.
But hey, my interpretation.
I game, among other things. My significant other just suckered me into getting an xbox 360, which makes me feel dirty since I've been loyal to Play Station and Nintendo (Other than that whole Sega Genesis faux pas when I was a kid), though I bear it because Lost Odyssey is gorgeous. I still love old Warcraft games, Black and White, anything where I can lord over my minions. No, I don't do MMORPGS because they make me feel dirty and not even bleach and steal wool gets rid of that feeling (Yet I still listen to people talk about it with rapt attention). I also do some LAN, have a yearly family thing with uncles and all, but I'm not a big FPS fan, which can invoke some ire in the others, heh. I also MUSH. Yes, I've LARPed. Thanks to years of public speaking, acting and theater, and generally being dramatic, I do fairly well, thank you. ... and yes, I have every badge that my pokemon league gave out at toys r us.
Outside of gaming, I do a lot of random craft making. I helped fashion a hydrogen cell for my car to get better gas mileage. I'm a practicing pagan and do a lot of study in the metaphysical and herbalism. I dig cartoons. I dig anime. I hate Inu Yasha. I can go from cynical to enlightened in 6.2 seconds and I multitask like a fiend. I like html, css and am learning to code for the MUSH I play. I also waste insane amounts of time playing in photoshop. I have a folder of bookmarks souly comprised of all the web comics I visit on a weekly basis. My Toothbrush is battery operated and Purple.
I don't waste much time on TV, though I still watch it through DVD selection.
My Music collection includes and is not limited to Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Mozart, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Ani Difranco, Cake, Tool, Pretty Ricky, Twista, Fleetwood Mac, SR-71, Bright Eyes and you can about imagine what else. Give it to me, I'll listen to it.
I laugh at anything, including myself. Strawberry Licorice and Virgil's Root Beer are my weapons of choice. Arm Yourself! |
