the only reason I bought it was my obsession with fitness and health, and I bought it with the mindset that I was not buying a game. I just wanted it for BMI and whatever other feedback it would offer, and maybe yoga if it seemed like it would motivate me to actually do stretches for a change. I love it, it tells me I'm overweight(BMI) which doesn't bother me because I recently had a bodyfat test done and I was 9.1%. The games, if you want to call them that, are hit and miss. They are much harder than they look just from watching the videos. I've officially turned into a soccer mom, and a damn ugly one at that.
I can't recommend it to anyone just looking to have fun with it, but if you're interested in what it can offer, then definitely buy it. It's making me and my wife more aware of our weight, habits and it gives good feedback. There will be many games utilizing the board in the future to validate spending the $90.
nice topic peach :: I endorse anything that increases gamers range of motion into "full body gaming" vs "fixed body gaming" :: "fixed body gaming" is great, but I like to balance it with as much full body gaming as possible :: I think it increases the overall competitive edge while keeping the weight off.
& like malex said, she lost 6 pounds with the boxing :: it will get you pumped :: the wii fit will give those who are not super active already a great workout, but I would much rather get the workout from the games themselves. I found some great adult games at my friend's house the other day. Increase the difficulty level & see what happens

I bought the game the day it launched and was a little disappointed.
First off, I get gauged by the game and it essentially calls me an obese, uncoordinated lummox. I could only imagine what an actual obese person would be gauged as.
I aced the strength-training elements (got the Bodybuilder rating) but the balance elements kept making me place my weight in awkward and unstable places. I took Yoga for almost a decade (kept me from dying from a stress-induced ulcer) and the poses in this game are fine...but the focus on placing weight in certain spots on your foot is waaaay off.
The "dodge the football cleats/goalie" mini-game was so off that it was almost in reverse of what I was actually doing.
So far, the "bubble-down-the-river" , the "ski-jump" and the marathon mini-games were the most fun but since two were really short and the other doesn't require the pad peripheral, it makes it a hard justification for the price, IMO.
I bought it about a month ago, and I think I'm one of the few people that got exactly what I'd expected.
I've lost about 9 pounds so far (well, not just with WiiFit - with a combo of WiiFit, an hour of cardio 3 nights a week, and eating a little healthier), and I have to say that it actually is a workout. I try to get in at least 30 minutes a day (usually closer to 45), and by the end, I'm always sweaty enough to need to shower.
I have to agree with Fisky in that some of the balance points seem a little off. So much so that if I try to concentrate on where they're telling me to balance, half the time I'll lose my balance completely.
My favorite games would have to be the Ski-Jump and the Tightrope Walk.
I'd complain about the price of the package, but I plan on utilizing the board for upcoming games like Skate It and Shaun White Snowboarding, so I think the board will definitely see more usage in the future than just for WiiFit. :D
