This game really is worth the money. You can hit up the online review sites for talk about how cool the dual screen battle mechanic is and how there are lots of cool moves to learn, but the highlight for me is the soundtrack. The first thing that hits you is "This is awesome music. Really fits the tone of the game. The vocals are great, and the rhythm is even... wait, is this coming out of my DS???" I swear I wasn't expecting music this good from a little level grinding RPG in Shibuya, but I am really impressed. The CD is on sale now, gang.
Yes, the characters are all brooding and depressed, but the tone of the story is one of self discovery and improvement, as well as expanding your horizons. You can't show that kind of a lesson as well when you start with a confident, outgoing hero. Neku sheds the little black cloud over his head as the plot advances and I really enjoyed all the twists and suprizes.
Still haven't completely finished it, but I'm 90% done and I'm glad I got talked into trying this. "Zetta cool."
