Just out of curiousity, is there any chance we could get a shoutbox that is fully customizable with CCS?

In general, could we create it with layout instead of image based, so that everything can be changed and fitted to individual profile styles? I wouldn't mind keeping it on my profile if I could shrink the size down some, and add some transparency and make the colors that I want. It sticks out a bit with a formatted profile, though, and is a bit bulky.

Also, I'm aware javascript isn't really allowed in the profiles, but you have certain features that can be linked (such as the add friend.) Could it be made so that the popup feature for the popbox also can be directly linked to the profile? This would help at least in my issue, that if the shoutbox cannot be changed image wise, then it would offer a way to use it without having to constantly open another tab or keep going back and forth.

I tried doing the popup, and messed my profile up for a few seconds..hah. Got it straightened out, but I'd really like to be able to directly link the popbox.

You can add transparency to the shoutbox the same way you add transparency to your comment divs. On the subject, filter:alpha serves the same function as -moz-opacity, only the former works for IE, and the latter for Firefox. They should generally have the same values, percentage-wise (the formatting is different, obviously), so that the page looks the same on each browser.

As for modifying the shoutbox further, I agree, it would be nice. I removed it from my page altogether since it would be oh so out of place.

I'm not sure why it's necessary to have the popbox link on a profile page though. It would save a single click and a few seconds I suppose, but you can launch the popbox and then navigate away from the shoutbox page, so that's really all it would do.
