I still think the Wii is an awesome system, Mario Galaxy FtW?! Anyone who claims to be a true gamer cannot hate on anything Nintendo, because with out them there would be no Xbox or PS for that matter. The whole gaming generation would be entirely different in every way, and definitely not for the better.

I agree with you, that without Nintendo setting the bar with their first console, no on else would have risen to the occasion. I love Nintendo as much as anyone else, if not more. But every console at one point in time has had an issue that needed to be addressed and fixed.

While this is true, the whole internet capabilities with the Wii are...mediocre. I mean, with Brawl, what is it, you can only talk to people with the 4 buttons you program with words? i love Nintendo and all, but if they're gonna have online matches with any of their titles, they need to either shit or get off the toilet. Either they're serious about online gaming or not. And time and time again, they have proved they are not.

I'd rather them not even bother with voice chat, or even dealing with internet anything for that matter, if they're not serious. We as gamers should be demanding better from them, because these Nintendo apologists are encouraging mediocrity and that's why Nintendo is getting away with the shit they've been throwing at us.
They're saying things like, "Oh they put Brawl on the internet, isn't that enough?" No, it's not because you can chat with people online on every other damn console, but Nintendo refuses to budge.

With xBox, they had flaws, consumers complained, and they made it better. Sony did the same thing, and they had a rocky start at the beginning of their launch. You tell Nintendo to try and fix something, and they give you the finger.

We are in the day and age where we need voice chat and the internet in our gaming, and that honestly, makes or breaks where the console is next gen, excluding the handhelds. Bottom line, Nintendo needs to fucking rise to occasion. It's 2008, not 1988.

Nintendo need to sort their shit out, they've been in "short supply" since day one and have maybe 2 or 3 good games, a whole catalogue of novelty bullshit and non-existant connectivity. But what else can we expect from a company with a few good franchises that they've run into the ground (mario, zelda and...oh wait, thats it) and a vow never to make anything with balls ever again.

PS2 was legendary but its day is done, the fact that its still selling is testament to the terrible start the PS3 has had - they're a major player, they fucked up royally and they've been whooped for it...all those exclusives gone. I don't think they're out of it but its gonna be a long climb

Sure, have your favorites - everyone does. (Mine are currently my 360 and my PSP.) However, if you can't open your eyes and see the other consoles for the good things they each have - that's a pretty epic fail. (That's only my humble opinion, of course.)
