I'm your typical born-and-raised Nintendo gamer. I cut my teeth on the original NES as a kid. Super Mario 3, Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy were probably my favorite games for NES.
The SNES was, of course, the greatest thing about being a kid during those "hay days" of console gaming. LoZ: Link t the Past, Super Mario World, and F-Zero were some of my highlights (oh, I should mention a small addiction to NBA Jam).
Next came the Nintendo 64. I was a mid-adopter to the 64 as a freshman in college (go Purdue Boilers!). Oh the almost endless hours spent with 007: Golden Eye, Mario Kart 64, and Wave Racer as multiplayer (that's local style of course-- nothing like 1/4 of a small TV screen for 007) in the cramped dorm room! Of course, Mario 64 and LoZ: Ocarina of Time were revolutionary.
I was a late-adopter to the GameCube, and, aside from Mario Kart: Double Dash and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, I never really played much of it. Being a first-year graduate student at the time (go UNC TarHeels!) of purchase pretty much killed any chances of really devoting time to it. Oh well!
Then, later in graduate school, I made the switch from the mighty Nintendo (my only gaming experience up to that point) to the almighty Xbox360. I've really ramped up my 360 playing more lately as 2007 was just unbelievable for it and gaming in general. I also picked up a Wii and later a PS3. The Wii and PS3 are great, but have been for more selective game titles so far, as the 360 is the current work-horse at my place for now.
Looking forward to a great 2008! Drop me a message or Xbox Live request if you live in or around the Eugene, OR (go Oregon Ducks!) area and are a gaming enthusiast too.
Later!
