Its ok but gets extremely annoying at times, go with FFT if you like this genre.
Story/Presentation: 9.5
From the start you are greeted by a animated movie, which instantly gets you into the story of the game. After that I thought that be the end of the anime style cut scenes, but I was wrong. After or before almost every encounter or stage there is a animated cut scene, followed by a in-game graphic cut-scene. This helps tremendously in keeping you entertained and interested on whats going on throughout the game. Story itself is solid and follows the basic stop the evil English and save France, or at least thats all I've seen so far 10 hours in. Although the one thing that is strange to me, is how in the normal non-animated cut scenes and fight sequences all the character models kinda look like bobble heads, which kinda throws me off considering how serious the story sometimes gets (ex. some villager commits suicide after a English raid) and also takes away the coolness factor of some of the characters.
Graphics: 9.5
Again the animated cut-scenes are awesome and look great. The battlefield environments look great too with the ability to zoom in and out while rotating the screen. The character models again I don't think quite fit the game and could have been done better, but still work well enough. The magic and skill animation look pretty cool, which keeps you interested in combat and wanting to see new skills.
Sound: 9.0
Voice acting and sound effects are done really really well. The music on the other hand are a little repetitive, but there is some much going on that you hardly notice. I do kinda wish, that there was more voice acting aside from the animated movies, considering how good they sound.
Gameplay: 9.0
Everything in the game is very well balanced, keeping the game challenging without making it to hard, there can be a few times where you might have to redo a stage because you got careless or made the wrong moves.
Only thing that seemed a bit overpowered at the transformed characters, which can kill most the enemies in 1 hit (at least the non-armored ones) and then get to move again whenever they kill an enemy. Sometimes I would find myself not using those transformed characters to their fullest because they would kill so much that they would get to be at a much higher level than my other characters.
The skill stone system they use in this game is new and pretty cool. Although I would rather prefer to have my characters have there own unique skills, rather than have to kill enemies over and over hoping that they drop a good skill stone. The skill stone binding frog, kinda fixes that in that you can create your own powerful skill stones with the weak ones you have.
Overall: 9.5
This is a very fun and entertaining game, very worth playing and owning. And easily the best RPG/Strategy game out for the PSP to date.
