So what can you do while you possess your squad members? Aside from being proficient in two weapons, you have some cool powers to use. Frank Delgado carries around a fire spirit on his arm that answers to his command. Xavier Jones is capable of astral projection and empathy. Billie Church is a blood mage, she pretty much cuts herself with her katana and casts some handy ward spells. Simone Cole can use mathematical principles to distort time and space, so she is able to slow down time and rewind it. Abigail Black is a telekinetic sniper, which means she can shoot a gun and control the bullet's direction with her mind, killing more than one creature with the same bullet. It's my favorite ability. Father Rawlings is your healer, he can drain health from enemies and disperse it among his team members.



There's some strategy involved as far as how to progress, since you will need to know who to use for certain situations, depending on their powers and choice of weapons. Devin can also issue basic commands such as split up, engage or back up, and for the most part, your team will listen and do what you say. The AI is fairly good and they can defend themselves and help each other when in need, even resurrect you if you fall in combat. The opposite is also possible, a bit like in Gears of War, you must run to where they die and press A to revive them. Combat is pretty hectic, so this comes in very handy.



The only thing to note that I'm not so fond of (aside of not having a jump button, that was weird) is the "context sensitive action sequences" gameplay. Think God of War "press this button now" mechanics. I really don't care for them and I'm pretty clumsy when it comes to them. In many occasions the game will put you in situations where you HAVE to complete those sequences successfully to advance. Without warning. They just appear. In one second the floor cracks beneath your feet, in the next you see a circle/square/triangle/X that disappears before you figure out what the hell just happened. The sequences become frustrating enough for me to blurt out a few nasty swear words.
