Issues with Games in the Game Database

Pwned.com has a pretty extensive collection of games in its game database. These are here thanks to countless members, adding them in one at a time. With this also comes mistakes and errors. If you happen to come across an error, mistake, duplicate or something else that is just odd in the games database. Please post your issue here so the staff of pwned.com can fix it asap.

Now this below is why this thread was created.


Seems pretty daunting being required to add in all of that info, just for you to go through the trouble of adding the game you want. Don't worry you can work around this for not filling in the required info. Just as long as the game "Title" is correct. You can place just a few letters in "Developer" and "Publisher" and "Genre" areas, select the correct "Type", Date can also be left as is. And the "Game Cover", anything laying around as a pic can work for this. You are more then welcome to do the footwork to obtain all of the correct info, but the team that is on these, is also going to do that anyways.

So whatever makes it easier for you as a member to add a game, go for it. You like to fill in all the info, thank you. If not, follow the above steps and make it a little easier on yourself. Its ok the staff here won't mind hunting down the right info. Gaming is their passion in life, so anything you do to make them look at more videos games then they do already, I would say go for it. I am sure they will not mind

When I was the approver andy said not to include the LE's or RE-releases as It is essentially the same game, different package. I think we should remove these.

That looks good on paper, but I am sure most will agree that NOT having those types of games in the database. Could and will in fact impact user interaction with it, negatively. Andy would of wanted that way to ensure things to go right with the "members played this month" tracking system, but that is in fact flawed anyways as the XBL, Steam stream sorts the games under much different names and truncated specific name qualities to help with their own tracking of games. I have had my hands full with going through the games of the past, for the last four years, I have been doing it. And I must say, as no insult to you Fred as I know you only did it for a short time. But shit was fucked up! (missing info, wrong cover art, wrong info, ect..) Now it is going smoothly and things are getting added in a timely and correct manner. Many mistakes I have already had to correct (even my own) and more each day as users add in games that need to be cross referenced to make sure of accuracy. And as Gigi has been doing, finding mistakes that I have also missed from past persons trying to do this

So no, I cannot agree with you on this mater as I see no benefit to excluding games that can be bought off the shelf of a store or online marketplace, no matter if they are Limited editions or re-releases on another platform. If a user can purchase it, or own it. Then we WILL have it for them to display in their collections. This is a gaming website and we deal in games. All of them

On re-releases, is it possible to sort of link them together? Goodreads has different editions of each book individually numbered and addressed, but in one place ( each page shows the same thing, with the exception of book data ( isbn, etc )) so it's possible to chose which one you have ... but like Vulgar said, it is, in essence, the same thing.
