The pace is leisurely to the point of being something you only need to check in on from time to time. Oh boy... that would be a LOONG list =) There are shitloads of awesome free-to-play browser-based games ( both flash and persistent, text-only and graphical ) as well as downloadable ones ( mostly MMOGs ), and play-by-email games ( though I've not delved into that much, myself ). You'd really have to be more specific, I'm afraid ^^
