hey everyone,

so we decided to run a referral contest. basically the person who has the most referrals from April 1st, 2008 to April 30th, 2008 will win a 200 dollar American Express gift card! WOOOO! we decided on this rather than a giftcard to like gamestop because this way you can buy what you want, like cakes and pies and video games and dinner for neil, you know whatever.

We will be checking who referred who and their IP addresses, with that said, if a friend signs up at your house OR at school or something where you would share an IP address that referral WILL NOT be counted. They must be 100% unique. Don't worry, we do have our ways to find out if your cheating or not :)

I know this is classed as bumping, and should theoretically be placed in the suggestions forum, but I think you should make an option in the profiles that allows members to decide whether or not they will appear on the results. Seems like a little bit of private information that you might not want shared; Though you might argue it's in the terms of conditions, some people are more then likely to have a problem with it...

Just thought I'd point it out... ^^

all you have to do is set your zip code 00000 or make up something

At the moment when you customize your profile, if you do not use the simple asset selection menus, you are given an area to enter css code which isn't defined and requires you to fully understand what is and what isn't compatible with PWNED. Instead of this blank area, I was hoping it would be possible to get a fully distinguished css entry area. Basically, when you load your profile for the first time, the css code for your profile in the default state is represented. This way it would allow for more modification and customization of your profile. I know it isn't that hard to do since I built a profile based site before for a school project; Basically when you load the profile, it calls an external .css file that the is for that user, and that user alone. I know this would probably require a major modification to the entire site structure but I think it would be worth it.

On this note, I was hoping to ask whether it would be possible to have control over what modules (About Me, My Games, Comments etc.) appeared on your profile. If possible you could allow for members to create seperate pages that also host this information. Originally I was gonna' try over-riding them through the css menu, but it seems the entire structure is unstable at the moment (Do NOT post css code or anything besides an image url into the main and secondary fields, you will break your profile editor. An example is: http://pwned.com/someimage.jpg) I'm not even risking it... Thanks for reading. ^^

The problem with distinguishing certain areas is that when i decided to add some more thing in for you guys to customize, it will either
A. Break what is already set up
B. Not have the desired affect you were looking for
C. Still require you to know CSS

I dont think its necessary for you to have an external CSS file, why do you ask? Because I have a layout API built out already that layout sites can use to help publish profile styles to a particular persons page. Now yeah i can go ahead and write the CSS to a file, but with constantly having to write files to the file system will eventually tax the server and end up being more of a headache in the long run(this is all assuming that we keep growing and have ten/hundreds of thousands of member)

The profile editor is specifically used for those who want to change the color and do not want play around with the css. I specifically put that warning in there to stop people from copying/pasting their css into those fields. You can put an image URL into background fields. just some simple image url, nothing fancy.

Im sure as you know, below that editor is where the CSS input is at. You can put your css in there.

There is plenty of resources on this site, specifically the forums that help people with their profile customization, and most of them are completely willing to help out.

Now also with taht said, you can turn off and turn on every little specific thing you wish to do .my_pictures{display:none;} thats the only code you need to turn off of the particular piece specifically the the tile that says "My Pictures"

Thats just an example. I need to build out a guide yet of all the classes and ids but in the meantime you can always just view source and pick it apart

Im not sure how easy you want me to make it for everyone, but i thought this was simple enough to understand

Hey Everyone,

updates updates updates!

Basically there is pagination now on the forums and the threads, so now there arent 500 posts on a page we can also sticky threads. Also on addition to that, there are forum signatures. If you want to add your forum signature, you can go into your page content in your user home page, pwned.com/bio/ and at the bottom it says forum signature. Please dont make your signatures massive, everyone will hate you if you do, so just use common sense.

i think thats it for now, if i think of something else ill add it!

i think you can use gifs, i could be wrong, if i am tell me so i can figure out what to do.

my only worry is that everyone will have gifs as avatars and it will give me a seizure and ill die from all the motion or possibly puke :(

well we do have clans and we were kicking the idea around about groups. the idea actually goes pretty deep. i believe well get around to it not sure when but it shouldnt be too long

no problem. the main thing were trying to think about is what exactly we are gonna do with the groups. we can easily set it up so you can join a group, but once your in a group, what particular thing could you do? does that make sense or am i rambling?

wow i messed this up really bad look at my profile. it looks ok when i made the code and looked at it in IE and firefix then after applying it here it messed up. i use to use this on myspace and i edited most of my code so i think it should work here

is anyone knows how to make this go back to normal let me know thanks

really? you should be able to use the iphone for it. ive done it before multiple times. it also works with the sidekicks(looks like ass) but it works. roy had an idea of building an iphone version of the site, we get enough of a response well have that specific version for ya then
