Sep 10, 2008, 9:03:06PM, Favorite TF2 classes?
1) Pyro: I enjoy the lack of latency between shots and the panic the class incites. I once chased a Demoman across a map without firing a single shot.

2) Sniper: My fallback favourite! Perhaps it's the Aussie in me or the satisfaction of a well-timed head-shot?
There are multiple ads: Ipod, Macbook Air, Nintendo Wii, etc.

How did any marketing person think these audible ads were a good idea?
While trying to add to the games database, I found quite a few systems missing. Would it be possible to add these consoles to the list?

Sega 32X

Sega Nomad

NEC TurboGrafx-16

SNK Neo-Geo

I bought the game the day it launched and was a little disappointed.

First off, I get gauged by the game and it essentially calls me an obese, uncoordinated lummox. I could only imagine what an actual obese person would be gauged as.

I aced the strength-training elements (got the Bodybuilder rating) but the balance elements kept making me place my weight in awkward and unstable places. I took Yoga for almost a decade (kept me from dying from a stress-induced ulcer) and the poses in this game are fine...but the focus on placing weight in certain spots on your foot is waaaay off.

The "dodge the football cleats/goalie" mini-game was so off that it was almost in reverse of what I was actually doing.

So far, the "bubble-down-the-river" , the "ski-jump" and the marathon mini-games were the most fun but since two were really short and the other doesn't require the pad peripheral, it makes it a hard justification for the price, IMO.
Sep 6, 2008, 9:55:41PM, Whats the point?
I've added a gajillion games (complete with game box art and accurate launch dates care of Wikipedia) and each addition was met with a message about being queued for approval. Will these games be added to "My Games" once they're approved?
Sep 6, 2008, 8:25:57PM, Warhammer Online Age Of Reckoning!
Two Collectors' Editions?! That's a nice mountain of cash you're sitting on there. :)

I was really interested in the Graphic Novel included with the CE of WAR but I'm happy just playing the game.

"Oi Oi Oi!"

And here I thought two blokes engaging in buggery was gay.
Sep 6, 2008, 6:29:16PM, India Gameshow Slap
Has anyone else seen this video from India portraying some horribly conceived game show where the female host berates and abuses male contestants for some odd reason (I get this crap for free, why would I go to India to see it?)?

I guess she got a little overzealous with her abuse and slapped this one bloke. It looks like he had a smack-back reflex that resulted in a swift upper-cut rejoinder.

The fella was then mauled by a crowd of men.

As a sane man, the fact that the fella in that clip caught heat for his retaliation, I find this clip aggravating.

The host had better count her blessings that the man she was picking on wasn't that big because she would have been knocked off her feet if that were me. :P

I'm not a misogynist nor do I condone violence but that host earned her busted lip. Genders aren't something to hide behind. I reckon, if someone is brave enough to throw the first strike, they're brave enough to face the consequences of their actions.

"VICTOLY!"
Sep 6, 2008, 3:09:54PM, Your Desktop?
Here's my desktop as seen on my laptop. I've scaled down the resolution a bit. The wallpaper's from a book I've been writing for a few years. Hopefully, it'll make a bonzer game someday. ^_^

With the impending release of Rock Band 2, I was hoping to get my hands on a drum set that didn't fall a part so easily and came upon an article featured on Kotaku about an expensive "Premium" drum set being released around the launch of Rock Band 2.

The "Drum Rocker" sounds like something I'd definitely like in place of the loud, shoddy and unreliable Drum Kit bundled with the game.

Unfortunately, the $300.00 USD asking price is a little hard to swallow, if any one else has heard anything about this peripheral that can help me justify the investment, I may pick up a set.

Sep 6, 2008, 1:27:50PM, Comic Con 2008
Comicon 2008 was a blast! It's a shame I learned of this site after the convention because it would have been great to meet up with some of the friends met on here.

Oh well, I guess that's for next year.
Sep 6, 2008, 1:24:21PM, Last game you beat?
Soulcalibur IV; I like playing through the single-player aspect of the game several times before taking on human opponents.
Sep 6, 2008, 1:21:29PM, How did you find pwned.com????
A coworker, Xenogenic, came back from PAX this year and evangelized the site and the cool people he met from it at the expo. That was enough for a few of us to hop on board the Pwned.com community and have a look.

I'm really glad Xenogenic told us about it because this community is awesome!

The self-absorbed, attention whoring is kept to a minimum and it's all about gamers... that sold me. :)
Sep 6, 2008, 11:52:34AM, How come...
There are a LOT of attractive women here in SoCal...

Unfortunately, I've noticed a direct correlation between how attractive they are and how despicable they are as human beings. They're like parasitic, hollow M&M's (sweet candy shell with no substance inside).

To be fair, they're not ALL like this but the ones that aren't are minorities.
In its current state, Xbox Live! Gold is merely a way for Microsoft to hold the multiplayer facets of games for ransom.

I can't see ANY justification for paying for this service when I can get the same features available for free elsewhere.

Example: Steam is a free service that offers many of the same features on my PC and provides further options in customization and performance. (Has anyone tried playing TF2 on the 360 vs. the PC and noticed a huge disparity in network performance and player number limitations?)

There are no "premium servers" being provided for the price of the Xbox Live! Gold membership and network performance is dismal compared to the PC experience using the exact same connection.

The difference between Xbox Live! Gold and Cable Television in the analogy provided by the quote above is that antenna-based television offers a very limited selection of network-only channels and the quality isn't very reliable in all houses.

Cable Television, though a different form of crook, does offer substantial benefits over antenna-based television and services comparable to it aren't available for free elsewhere.
Sep 6, 2008, 10:22:18AM, Show/Hide Remains Perpetually Hidden
I'm not sure if it's something I did (most likely) or just a bug with my browser(s), Firefox 2.5, I.E. 7, but the tool bar that used to appear at the bottom of the screen (showing messages, e-mails, friend requests, etc.) no longer un-hides itself when I click on the "Show/Hide" button.

Is this issue affecting anyone else? Are there any remedies for this?

EDIT: I guess the problem fixed itself as the tool bar is now present again after I logged out and back in.
