You cannot set opacity of a div background without code that isn't allowed here. You can see an example of code-based opacity control that will function here on my page, but note that it controls the opacity of the div's background as well as the foreground.

A simple alternative to create a background with transparency would be to use a small (5x5px would do), low-opacity, image, in the PNG format with transparency enabled. Use the image as your background and you'll get the effect you're looking for.

If you want a totally transparent background, use a small, blank GIF with transparency enabled. You can use this one if you want; http://emazingek.com/images/linksm.gif

I'll join if it's not an FFA PvP server. No thank you to getting ganked every two minutes.

I'm in the closed beta. The game is ok, but it's really not finished yet.
No, there are no load times entering shops or moving in a linear fashion anywhere around the physical world. If you free-roam, there are no load times.

Of course there are still load times for cut-scenes, or when you jump into a taxi and skip the trip there. Content has to be loaded, and the game cannot predict when you're going to need a cutscene, or where you're going to take a taxi to.

Emily + Amazing = Emazing
You need to be more specific. What is it you want to do to the background?

If you just want a basic background, go to your user home page and click on 'Edit Profile Look and Feel' then fill in the background boxes with the link to your background image.

I pretty much do what RR did. If I want to know how to do something I just Google "X photoshop tutorial" where 'X' is the technique I want to learn.

For starting out, "beginner photoshop tutorials" should get you going.

You can add transparency to the shoutbox the same way you add transparency to your comment divs. On the subject, filter:alpha serves the same function as -moz-opacity, only the former works for IE, and the latter for Firefox. They should generally have the same values, percentage-wise (the formatting is different, obviously), so that the page looks the same on each browser.

As for modifying the shoutbox further, I agree, it would be nice. I removed it from my page altogether since it would be oh so out of place.

I'm not sure why it's necessary to have the popbox link on a profile page though. It would save a single click and a few seconds I suppose, but you can launch the popbox and then navigate away from the shoutbox page, so that's really all it would do.
Mar 30, 2008, 10:41:28PM, A Better Forum
I can put just about anything into my signature. I suspect some limitations are going to need to be put in place to avoid abuse, but for now I will enjoy the freedom.
Less is more, in my opinion. I don't have time to go through all the threads that get bumped here because there's so much fluff to sift through just to find threads that mean anything. I pretty much stick to the Technical Support, Profile Editing, and Comments/Suggestions forums. Less spammy posts will get more people involved here. Intriguing subject matter makes people want to participate, spam just makes people want to skip over topics, or even the whole forum.
Mar 30, 2008, 9:51:57PM, soooo.....
Convincing JXpress to change his display picture will be a good start!
Mar 30, 2008, 9:32:35PM, What's the Deal with SKATE?
I found it at a Kmart when I bought my PS3. They had multiple copies.

This isn't me rubbing it in your nose or anything, I'm just saying no, I did not have the same problem ;) Try Kmart, even if it makes you feel a little bit dirty.

.comment {
background-color:transparent;
}

That should do it.
Mar 24, 2008, 7:15:28PM, Hey Whats Up..?
Welcome to the community. If you have any more questions, try asking them on the shoutbox ( http://pwned.com/shoutbox/ ). People are usually friendly and can quickly provide the answers you seek :)
Mar 24, 2008, 7:13:46PM, Hi!
Greetings, Earthling.
See the second post in this thread...
Ugh, I intended to post that from my account. Ah well, there you have it.

PS - Forum needs a delete function!

I live with her. Shortly after I joined I convinced her to sign up, even though I knew she probably wouldn't stick around. I like to do profile designs so I made one up for her. While I was logged into her account to add the code I snapped a shot of her (mostly) stock profile so I could write up this quick guide. When I went to post it here, I forgot I was still logged into her account. Ergo, her post is my post.
Mar 22, 2008, 12:13:22PM, I cannot be forsaken
Welcome.

Personally, I would come to the PWNED COD4 XBL Wednesday night game next week to show off my skills, but then people would know that I don't have any.

Surprisingly, I agree with Duffman.

My iPod, or Winamp > Internet radio.
Mar 19, 2008, 12:44:38PM, Uploading Videos?
You're not going crazy. Some people do have video on their profiles, but these are videos hosted on other websites, embedded into their profiles.

The feature that will allow you to upload videos onto this website for display on your profile, this is what remains in the works.
Mar 19, 2008, 12:41:26PM, Friend Feed?
The FriendFeed won't work because it uses JavaScript, and this type of code is disabled to prevent malicious activity. Andy/pwned must work his magic to make exceptions to this rule, and I believe he meant to imply he will when he said this;
yes actually, let me work that out today for you
