My gtx was brought to its knees on Vista :( </3

Play Crysis on a 24" and you'll feel my pain...or be jealous - either or ;)

Alright - here is your place to ask questions about gaming on Vista. I have been doing it for some time now - and am getting similar frame rates to my XP days - let me know if you need a hand with anything.

From here: Don't bother with DX10 and Vista if you are not into playing around with your OS to any great extent. I have been testing Vista with my company for some time - and am very comfortable with it. Please only ask serious questions. Many I will have answered on my web page previously: www.sngftw.com Feel free to sign up and ask there as well.

You can try the vendor sites such as Falcon Northwest, Voodoo PC....

Check them out at least!

From there - if you want to build it yourself? Try this:

4x Western Digital Raptors
ASUS Maximus Motherboard
Intel QX9650
4GB of Corsair Dominator RAM
LG Super Multi Blue SATA drives
Dual up some BFG 8800 Ultra's, and hook 'em up with the watercooling editions.
Grab a nice 24" screen or two to tag along with that.
Place all this junk in an Antec 900 case (my personal favourite to build in)
The Zalman Reserator watercooling kit would be nice to use as well, great for first time watercooling builders.

Keeping it under 3k you mean?

2 WD raptors, Asus Maximus, Q6600, 4 GB OCZ Gold, 1 8800 Ultra, SATA DVD Burners, Antec 900.

EVGA 8800 GTX Superclocked. Too bad Vista hates its own DX10. And coding in it is not fun - contact me for any support with Vista - I have been testing it for a few months with custom drivers.

As well - you can simply use the standard XP fix - Control Panel your user input devices and play with setting for the mouse/keyboard in there. From that point - if you have any software that came with your device, you will be able to change things there too.
