heres a good site, similar to achieve360points.com in the aspect that it shows all the achievements for a game. but if you sign up it links your GT to it and if you or someone else checks out your page it shows stuff like the last 3 achievements you got, the last 3 games youve played. if you add friends on there it will have the latest achievements they got. it includes forums, you can upload reviews on games, post solutions for particular achievements. ive found it quite handy in my ventures. go and check it out. and if you do dont forget to add me "Shrapnel 117" (quotation marks are not part of GT)

Same here, multiplayer gets really boring after a while.
Most people just play just to whore up on ranks xD

im a lvl 43 in lonewolves and what annoys me the most is players who just boost to get exp. mostly cuz their too crap to do it the old fashioned way. a few people have been annoyed and accused me of having a second account cuz im so good lol. whats wrong with being a level 43 commander with 350 exp? its not my fault their all noobs.

as far as i know it will have some form of multiplayer i think. it will come with the Mythic Map pack. so you can either DL the maps beforehand OR get them with the game.

right basically theres this Halo 3 (themed) web/text based RPG. IMO its actually half decent out of the various text RPG's that ive played. you start off by choosing what you are Elite or Spartan. then when on your main page you can do a few things. you can attack others in a 1v1 match, which gets played on 1 of a few Halo 3 maps (all text though) you can train up your stats (attack, defence, agility, accuracy) you can change your armour, so you can match it to your actual Halo 3 profile, you can link your gamertag, have teams (which are used for matchmaking), clans. at level 10 there is something called The Clearing available to you, this is hard to explain, but think of it as a kind of campaign thing.

I think this game would be pretty awesome for Halo. It will be different not being the Chief or Arbiter. I think they should also make just a Marine game, like you won't have to be an ODST trooper. His gun in the trailer also looked different, I hope they stay with the normal weapons and vehicles, because it wouldn't make sense if they had new tech when the game is a prequel to Halo 3. Still will be a kick @$$ game when it comes out...

well just like the Navy SEALs have different guns, and in some cases just make guns out of others, i am guessing that the ODSTs are in the same way so you will still have the same guns but there will be new guns probably only for the campaign because to what I understand this game is nothing but a campaign extension and really dose nothing for multiplayer.

The weapon in the trailer is an SMG, it has a silencer and the backstock has been extended. as for the multiplayer. Halo 3: Recon will have a multiplayer side too. it will be interesting to see how that turns out

Looks like Recon will be an interesting and fun addition to the Halo 3 game, although im not especially pleased about the fact i'll be playing as an ODST. Since reading the Halo novels, i've never really liked 'em

theres much discussion that the ODST is infact a Spartan 1. and besides, not all ODST's are like the SOB's that were in the Gym while John was there. XD

What is Halo 3: Recon?

Halo 3: Recon is a standalone, disc-based campaign expansion to Halo 3. It will be available at fine retailers around the globe in Fall of 2009.


I read on some Liveblog that Master Chief got out of the drop pod?

Negative, ghost rider. Instead of playing as the Master Chief (like players did in Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3) in H3: Recon, players take control of an ODST (an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) who entered orbit just after the slipspace rupture on New Mombasa (that event, you recall, took place as Regret left the planet – and in Halo 2, you followed him as the Chief). Now, players will learn more about what happened on New Mombasa during some of the events of Halo 2.



Is Halo 3 : Recon a 3rd person / squad based shooter?

Nope. "Recon" is definitely first person and it's definitely still a Halo game as you've come to know it. That said, playing as an ODST in this new setting will bring some new twists to the gameplay.



How much will Halo 3 : Recon cost?

The price point has not yet been determined. While there will be a lot of content to enjoy and a great deal of replayability, this is still viewed as an expansion to Halo 3 more so than its equal.



We saw Assembly at PAX 2008, when will we get more downloadable content for Halo 3?

The Mythic Map Pack will be made available via Xbox Live Marketplace in early 2009. “Winter,” as they say. As soon as we have more details we will certainly share them.



Will the Recon campaign content or the other multiplayer maps be available through Xbox LIVE Marketplace?

Beyond the Mythic Map Pack early next year, there are no plans to release other portions of the Recon package outside of the retail box.


Is there a multiplayer component to Halo 3: Recon?

There are multiplayer maps that will appear as a part of the Halo 3: Recon package. This includes the aforementioned Mythic Map Pack in addition to a few others. You can also experience the entire Recon campaign cooperatively with up to 4 players.



Will we get to play as ODSTs in multiplayer now?

No. The multiplayer maps included with the retail package are straight up Halo 3 multiplayer maps. The ODST and other components that make up the Recon campaign are in a separate bucket and not crossing over into the competitive multiplayer realm. Think of it as two games in one.



Will the Halo 3 : Recon multiplayer maps work with "regular" copies of Halo 3?

If you purchase the Mythic Map Pack early next year via Marketplace and your friend waits and gets them with the Halo 3 : Recon retail package next Fall, you can still play together. The multiplayer maps are all part of the Halo 3 "title ID" family, regardless of where or how you get them.



What about other features from Halo 3?

Halo 3: Recon will still make use of Screenshots, Forge and Saved Films just like Halo 3 does.



Will Halo 3 : Recon have new achievements? Are these the same as the ones already "leaked" online?

There are actually two separate buckets for new achievements. The multiplayer achievements will be considered additive to your existing Halo 3 gamerscore. Some of these will be available when the Mythic Map Pack is released on Marketplace early next year. The Recon campaign will include a complete set of unique achievements and a full bounty of 1000 gamerscore to obtain.



This dude at 7-11 told me that there’s a new Campaign version of Forge coming?

Get your Slurpee somewhere else. The maps included with Halo 3: Recon certainly support Forge and the functionality it affords players. But, there isn’t a new Campaign Forge being added to the Halo 3 experience.



I read somewhere that this is the last Halo game Bungie is making. Say it isn't so!

We're not ready to discuss the other projects underway within the studio right now but Halo 3 : Recon does represent the final basket of goodness that we will be delivering for the Halo trilogy. There are no more offshoots or side stories in the works.

Yes, we are happy to finally be able to pull back the curtain and share our latest project with our fans.



Will Halo 3 : Recon still use the Halo 3 engine?

Yes, this is very much an extension of the Halo 3 you have come to know and love complete with all the features included with the original game.

Im not exactly sure where mine came from. I have a friend who is known as Slasher (dunno y) and when we got halo 1 (soon after it came out) we needed to make up gamernames. and he used Slasher and i didnt have one. i tried a few things like Talon and Osprey but i needed someting cooler, and then Shrapnel just came to me and it was good. so now lots of people know me by Shrapnel :)

I was thinking that you got your name from Shrapnel of Transformers Gen 1 fame. For those that don't know, he was the "leader" of the Insecticons.

I decided to use "kal el" as my user name because I'm a Superman fan.

call of duty wins this one by a land slide....there is no comparison to it. COD has beter graphics,Game Play,user interface,and online gameplay

plus it has stupid glitches, a friend of mine who has it showed me one where theres this invisible wall you can run along on this one multiplayer map so snipers can see the entire map.

besides CoD is intended to be realistic, Halo is supposed to be Sci-Fi so of course you CoD ppl are going to say CoD looks better and the gameplay is better. the other thing is, Halo is more F U N.
