Right now my rig is running pretty badly, its about eight years old and has only ever had a GPU upgrade (which still hasn't been done right, sadly).

But I have a new rig on the way that should be here next week, thank god. Its specs are:

Tower: nzxt Alpha gaming tower with 600 watt SLi power supply + external temperature gauge

Mobo: Asus M2N-SLI nforce 560 Chipset

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ dual core

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT with 1gig instead of 512 cache

RAM: 1024MB (1gig, will be upgrading to 2 gigs when funds are available)

Hard drive: 160gig (not sure of the brand, really)

Sound Card: Stock, nothing to brag about. But I'll upgrade to a Creative Lab Sound Blaster X-Fi extreme gamer when I find the money.

Network card: Pretty run of the mill, nothing special.

OS: Windows XP, I might upgrade to vista after service pack 2 is released.

Cooling: Extreme performance AMD brand CPU cooling system. I plan to upgrade to liquid if I put some more power into it. I also plan on buying a larger fan and create a vaccuum pressure in my case to keep it cooler.

Frankly, ATI cards have always been a real pain in my ass. They ran Half-Life based games like a champ back when that was the thing. But these days Nvidia is just dominating for the most part. ATI's aren't necessarily bad cards, but they're more expensive in my experience. Nvidia has been the real card in my arsenal for a while now, and I personally plan to keep it that way.

ATI just can't bring the goods to the plate like Nvidia can for me. Nvidia is easier to install and easier to deal with.

Yeah, people can just come up and beat you to death in PvP servers. Its an interesting play style, infuriating sometimes, but super fun others.

I really enjoyed what little bit I played of LoTRO, it had a pretty good mix of players who might not have been role players, but had atleast role play friendly names. I LOVE the idea of housing, my absolutely FAVORITE part of the game. I didn't get a chance to experience much of that though, considering their prices.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my brief play.
